Why do you promote your cottages as a
peaceful place to come and relax?
We feel a tranquil setting is very positive and restorative for most people. Over the many years we have been in this business, we have seen countless customers shed their stress and frustrations and have a very positive experience in our environment. Simply put, we prefer to give our guests the privacy and peaceful environment that brings value to their lives.
Parties - Family Reunions - Weddings -
We do not permit parties of any kind at the property as it always interferes with other guests who come for relaxation.
We do permit Family reunions providing all members understand that we expect the family activities will not interfere with other guests. We ask that group activities be confined to the beach. We cannot accommodate weddings at the property.
We cannot accommodate gatherings at the property.
Do you have a quiet time?
Yes! - Quiet time is 10:00pm.
What are House Keeping Cottages?
The term "House Keeping" means that you generally keep your cottage clean by ensuring whatever is provided for you like pots, pans, dishes, utensils etc are washed and dried and put away, sweeping the floor, wiping up spills etc. This means that you treat the cottage as if it were your home and you help to maintain the general cleanliness of the cottage. We will provide and launder all linens. Please bring your own shampoo and bath soap.
Do you provide BBQ's?
We provide small charcoal BBQ's - please bring your own briquettes and starter fluid. Please feel free to bring your own portable BBQ if you wish. Please Note: - BBQ's must not be used on the wooden decks as this creates a fire hazard.
What should I bring to the cottage?
Beach towels and blankets, toys, salt and pepper, toiletries, books, groceries.
What are your prices?
All pricing is based on double occupancy, availability, and intent. Sales Tax is not included in price. Full payment is due at time of registration. No refunds are given for early departures. To try and keep our prices affordable, maintain the property in good working condition, and keep up with our own costs, our fees are competitive and based on usage by guest count.
How do I confirm a booking?
You will need to call our office to provide contact and billing information. When you make your reservation, the following deposits apply;
What is your cancellation policy?
We require notice of cancellation 30 days prior to 2pm of your scheduled day of arrival. If you cancel your reservation more than 30 days prior to your scheduled day of arrival, a $50.00 administration fee will apply. Your deposit will be refunded less the administration fee.
Cancellations made less than 30 days prior to your arrival date, will result in a forfeiture of your deposit.
A deposit of 50% of your total bill will be required to secure your booking.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, cash, traveller's cheques, money orders. Please note: A credit card is required regardless of payment method chosen.
What are your check-in and check-out times?
Check-in time is between 2:00 and 6:00 pm If you plan to arrive later than 6:00pm, we ask that you please call to advise your arrival time. Check-out time is before 10:30 am on your departure date.
Do you provide outdoor games (horseshoes)?
We do not provide games for play on the property, however, you are welcome to bring your own. We do ask that all these activities are to be conducted on the beach so as not to disturb other guests.
Do you permit beach fires or do you have fire pits?
We do not permit fires of any type. Some people are allergic or sensitive to the smoke from a fire. Candles are not permitted on the decks or in the cottages. LED candles are permitted.
Do you allow smoking in the cottages?
Smoking in the cottages or suites is not permitted. If you smoke in the cottage, a $500.00 cleaning fee will be immediately applied to your bill.
Parking is available for registered guests only. If there is a need to bring more than one car, please advise us when booking as it may not be possible to accommodate additional vehicles. Visitors to your cottage will have to find parking off-site which is possible but not always available. Please talk to the office manager about parking if you have a need for additional space. We will try to accomodate as much as possible.
Visitors to your Cottage
We welcome visitors to the property, however, there are a number of conditions that apply when someone comes to the property to visit a registered guest. As mentioned earlier in this FAQ, we promote the property as a quiet place to come and relax by the sea. Please review our visitor policies below to ensure you are comfortable prior to booking with us.
- All visitors must register at the office before proceeding to your cottage. This is a requirement for insurance reasons.
- Visitors are welcome to your cottage for 2hrs without additional charge. If you wish to have visitors for the day or part of the evening, there is an additional charge of $20.00 per person plus HST.
- All visitors must be off the property by 9:00pm.
We do not accept pets at the property. Please ensure visitors to your cottage do not bring their pets.
Activities and Attractions
There are many different activities in the area and the Province that are accessible. We always refer our guests to search the Nova Scotia Tourism website for the most up to date information in Atlantic Canada.
